CHERRIES STAIRCASE

Cherries staircase was a project in itself and was the biggest purchase we made. It was one thing I really had to persuade Toby to invest in. The way I saw it was that you could change the kitchen - but very hard to change your staircase and he agreed totally. We decided to make the under stairs part into the ‘cats room’. I had seen on Pinterest someone had cut a cat shaped hole so we made a template and asked Jarrods our staircase manufacturer to help.

It was one of the biggest moments when Stevie our cat totally got it and strolled our of there.

We had designed a totally different staircase In our original design we had almost commissioned it when a local chap popped in a spoke to our builder who gave him my number. I was at work and I told him what we were trying to achieve as I just felt we were going to get what we wanted and Jarrods came back to us with some great ideas. Firstly spiralising the steps, which meant a continuous flow - important especially when you are going up two floors. Also the swan necked handrail instead of the straight sectioned one proposed before.
We love it and it is now the heart of the home especially as our office is on the first floor landing.
